Master Street Address Guides (MSAG) and Automatic Location Identification (ALI) databases play a critical role in the routing of live 9-1-1 calls in Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) systems. They are used in E9-1-1 to enable the call to flow through the system, to assign appropriate responders, and ultimately have the location of the caller display on a Geographic Information System (GIS) base map.
Maintaining the MSAG and ALI databases are just as important as the initial data development. It is vital to ensure these databases are maintained at the highest levels of accuracy, and at a high rate of synchronization with GIS data. GIS data use in public safety, such as identifying the location of 9-1-1 calls, requires your GIS data to be updated as your jurisdiction grows and changes.
GeoSolve works closely with you, your chosen database provider, and all participating wireline telephone providers to maintain these databases. We provide the professional GIS data management services to ensure all new roads, addresses, and subdivisions are added accurately to the original files. Additionally, we will work with local PSAP personnel and emergency response agencies to ensure response boundaries are accurate and up to date. These services are completed upon receipt of the change and made available for regular updating of key PSAP mapping applications.
